Hinjawadi, 22nd April 2026: In a fresh development in Anand Shede’s missing case, a bus driver reported spotting the missing 62-year-old man near a bus stop beside Mai Mangeshkar Hospital in Warje on April 25 between 2 pm and 2:30 pm.

This gave the family a new but unconfirmed lead in the ongoing search. However, as the missing person pamphlet was circulated only later that day, the driver could not identify him at the time.

Speaking to Punekar News, Nitin Patil, the man’s eldest son-in-law, said the family immediately rushed to Warje after receiving the information and searched the area till late night, but found no trace of him. “We are still in Warje trying to locate him, but there is no confirmed clue yet,” he said.

Earlier, CCTV footage from April 22 showed the man near TCS Circle in Hinjewadi Phase 3 at around 7:47 am, shortly after he left home for his morning walk. Beyond this point, there is no verified visual evidence of his movement.

“Some locals claimed to have seen him later, including a woman at a tea stall who said he briefly sat and spoke with her, but there is no proof of that,” Patil added.

The case is being investigated by Sub-Inspector Mayur Patil of Hinjawadi Police Station, who has been assisting the family with CCTV footage and coordinating search efforts. Despite extensive checks, including local inquiries, no breakthrough has been made so far.

The family has announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for any credible information and has urged citizens to help in locating him. “He is physically weak and had suffered a brain stroke in December. Although he recovered, he is not as strong as before,” Patil said.

“We just hope he is safe and request anyone who spots him to take him to the nearest police station so that we can be informed,” he added.
