Pune: Minor Held for Stealing Bikes for Fun; Warje Malwadi Police Recover 10 Vehicles
Warje, 7th May 2026: The Warje Malwadi Police have detained a minor allegedly involved in stealing two-wheelers for fun and recovered 10 stolen motorcycles from his possession. The police also succeeded in solving 10 vehicle theft cases registered in Pune city and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
According to police officials, Police Sub-Inspector Sanjay Narale and his team from Warje Malwadi Police Station were on patrol duty when they noticed a boy standing near Bartakke Hospital with a motorcycle under suspicious circumstances.
When the police asked him to produce the vehicle documents, he reportedly gave evasive answers, raising suspicion. During further questioning, the minor confessed that he had stolen the motorcycle from the vicinity of Borikar Hospital in Warje.
During the investigation, the accused also admitted to stealing nine more two-wheelers from areas including Warje Malwadi, Alankar, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Kharadi, and Lonikand.
Police said all the stolen motorcycles have been seized.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam by a team led by Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi of Warje Malwadi Police Station.
