Fire Brigade Rescues Man Trapped 25 Feet High on Mango Tree After Electric Shock in Baner

Baner, 8th May 2026: A 31-year-old man sustained injuries after suffering an electric shock while plucking mangoes from a tree in the Baner area of Pune on Wednesday.

According to officials from the fire brigade department of Pune Municipal Corporation, the incident took place at Prathamesh Park in Baner when the man climbed a mango tree to pluck fruits using a steel pipe. During the process, the pipe reportedly came in contact with a high-tension power line, triggering a short circuit.

Following the electric shock, the man got trapped among the branches of the tree at a height of nearly 25 feet above the ground.

Teams from the Baner and Aundh fire stations rushed to the spot and carried out a rescue operation using ladders, ropes and rescue belts to safely bring him down from the tree.

After the rescue, the injured man was handed over to police personnel present at the scene and was later shifted to a hospital in a private ambulance for treatment.

The operation was led by Station Officer Shivaji Memane and in-charge officer Vishnu Raut, along with firefighters Dnyaneshwar Gaikwad, Rajesh Bhalchim, Sanjay Chaure, Vijay Chavan and Sonawale.
