CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 Declared; Pass Percentage Drops to 85.20%
New Delhi, 13th May 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 12 Board Examination Results 2026 today. Students can now access their results through multiple platforms, including the official websites, DigiLocker, UMANG app, SMS, and IVRS services.
According to CBSE, the overall pass percentage this year stands at 85.20%, marking a decline of 3.19 percentage points from last year’s 88.39%. A total of 15,07,109 students cleared the examination this year, compared to 14,96,307 students in 2025.
Girls once again outperformed boys in the examination results. The pass percentage among girls stood at 88.86%, while 82.13% of boys passed, resulting in a gap of 6.73 percentage points.
Officials stated that more than 17 lakh students had registered for the Class 12 board examinations this year. CBSE also implemented mandatory On-Screen Marking (OSM) for evaluation for the first time in 2026.

* DigiLocker website and app: digilocker.gov.in
* UMANG app and website
* SMS service
* IVRS facility: Delhi students can call 24300699, while students outside Delhi can dial 011-24300699
* SMS Organizer App: Students need to send “cbse12 <roll number> <school number> <centre number>” to 7738299899
To pass the examination, students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject separately in theory and practical examinations. Students failing in one or two subjects will be eligible to appear for compartment examinations scheduled to be held in June. CBSE will announce the application process for compartment exams shortly.
