Pune: Muskmelon, Papaya and Mosambi Prices Rise in Pune Due to Reduced Market Arrivals
Market Yard, 25th May 2026: Reduced arrivals due to recent rainfall have created a mixed trend in fruit and vegetable prices at the Gultekdi Market Yard in Pune. Traders said prices of muskmelon, papaya and sweet lime (mosambi) have increased sharply due to lower supply, while among fruit vegetables, only cluster beans (ghevda) witnessed a decline in prices. Prices of most other vegetables have remained stable, providing some relief to consumers.
According to traders at the Market Yard fruit market, arrivals on Sunday included 1,200 to 1,500 sacks of lemons, 12 to 15 tonnes of mosambi, one tonne of oranges, 25 to 30 tonnes of pomegranates, 10 to 12 tempos of papaya, 12 to 15 tempos of watermelon, 10 to 12 tempos of muskmelon, 1,000 sacks of chikoo, 200 to 250 crates of guava and five truckloads of pineapple.
Around 90 truckloads of fruit vegetables arrived in the wholesale market from different parts of Maharashtra as well as other states.
Fruit prices in the wholesale market were as follows:

Traders said arrivals of decorative flowers and loose flowers remained steady in the flower market at the Market Yard.
Meanwhile, increased arrivals of coriander compared to last week led to a ₹5 drop per bundle in wholesale prices. Prices of ambadi and rajgira also fell by ₹2 each. However, due to higher demand compared to supply, prices of dill leaves increased by ₹5, while spring onion prices rose by ₹3.
Traders said prices of other leafy vegetables remained stable due to balanced demand and supply.
Fenugreek arrivals increased significantly from 80,000 bundles last week to nearly 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh bundles this week.
Wholesale leafy vegetable prices per 100 bundles were:
Coriander: ₹1,500 to ₹2,500
Fenugreek: ₹1,000 to ₹2,500
Dill leaves: ₹1,000 to ₹1,500
Spring onion: ₹1,000 to ₹1,800
Spinach varieties and other leafy vegetables: ₹500 to ₹2,000 depending on quality and demand.
