Pune: 350 Litres of Diesel Stolen From Parked Truck near Shivare, Case Registered

Pune, 27th May 2026: Around 350 litres of diesel worth was allegedly stolen from a parked truck on a service road near Swati Petrol Pump in Shivare village limits in Pune district.

A complaint in the matter has been lodged at Rajgad Police Station against two unidentified persons.

According to police, truck driver Mahadev Sarangdhar Wagh (38), currently residing in Pimple Gurav, had parked his truck (NL 01 OB 3113) near the petrol pump on Tuesday night due to darkness and halted for the night. When he checked the vehicle around 5.30 am on Wednesday, he found that the lock of the fuel tank had been broken and diesel had been siphoned off.

Police said the accused allegedly stole approximately 350 litres of diesel after forcibly opening the tank lock.

Following the complaint, Rajgad police registered a case and launched an investigation. Police personnel visited the spot and began a formal probe into the theft. Efforts are underway to trace the unidentified accused.

Police have appealed to vehicle owners and transporters to ensure fuel tank locks are secured properly and to park vehicles in well-lit areas equipped with CCTV surveillance whenever possible. Citizens have also been urged to immediately inform police if any suspicious activity is noticed.
