Pimpri Chinchwad, 9th June 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Tuesday said that all three patients admitted after consuming spurious liquor in the Phugewadi hooch tragedy have recovered and were discharged from Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital.

The patients had been admitted in a critical condition following the consumption of toxic liquor. According to civic officials, they were provided free treatment at the municipal hospital under the directions of PCMC Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi.

Hospital authorities said the patients were placed under the care of specialist doctors immediately after admission and underwent necessary medical tests, treatment and intensive monitoring. Family members were also provided regular updates and assistance during the course of treatment. Officials said the coordinated efforts of doctors, nursing staff and medical personnel led to a significant improvement in the patients’ condition.

The Medicine Department of YCM Hospital played a key role in the treatment process, with doctors closely monitoring the patients and administering the required interventions. All three patients have now fully recovered and returned home in stable health, officials said.

The civic administration credited the timely response of the municipal health machinery and the hospital’s emergency care services for saving the patients’ lives. The incident, officials said, highlighted the capability of YCM Hospital and its medical staff in handling critical emergencies.

Vijay Suryawanshi, PCMC Commissioner, said the civic body ensured that all necessary facilities and treatment were provided free of cost to the affected patients. “It is a matter of satisfaction that all the patients have recovered and are now able to return home. The work carried out by the doctors, nurses and medical staff of YCM Hospital is commendable,” he said.

Health Medical Officer Dr Laxman Gophane said the patients were treated in a prompt and systematic manner, with specialists from different departments working in coordination and continuously monitoring their condition. “Timely intervention by the medical team in an emergency situation made it possible for all the patients to recover fully,” he said.
