Pune: Armed Gang Sweeps Through Daund Villages, Loots Rs 7.1 Lakh in Midnight Raids

Daund, 11th June 2026: A gang of unidentified robbers struck multiple settlements in Khorwadi and Alegaon villages in Daund taluka in the early hours of Wednesday, decamping with cash, gold ornaments, mobile phones and motorcycles collectively worth around Rs 7.1 lakh.

According to police, the robbery took place between 1 am and 3 am across various hamlets in the two villages. A group of five to seven assailants allegedly armed with knives, sickles, iron rods, iron pipes, wooden sticks and stones targeted several households, assaulting residents and threatening them before looting valuables.

The robbers allegedly forced their way into houses and fled with gold jewellery, cash, mobile phones and motorcycles.

Based on a complaint filed by Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Santosh Malhari Shinde, a case has been registered against five to seven unidentified persons at Daund police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police Sub-Inspector Rupesh Kadam is leading the investigation.

Police teams have launched a search operation to trace the accused.
