Pune, 11th June 2026: A deadline for land acquisition and acceptance of compensation for the proposed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje International Airport at Purandar has been extended till June 30 following requests from farmers and village heads, Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi said on Thursday.

According to Dudi, acquisition of 851 hectares has been completed out of the total 1,216 hectares required for the airport project. Nearly 70% of the consent agreements have been submitted by landowners. The administration has so far disbursed compensation worth Rs 950 crore, while an additional Rs 2,000 crore is expected to be received next week. The process of acquiring the remaining land is underway.

The collector said several issues are delaying the acquisition process, including pending land valuation disputes, court cases, revenue department matters, correction of ownership records, heirship entries, relinquishment deeds and other revenue-related procedures involving some farmers. While efforts are being made to resolve these issues, the process is taking time.

Against this backdrop, farmers and gram panchayat representatives had sought an extension of the deadline. After considering the pending matters, the administration decided to extend the period for giving consent to land acquisition and accepting compensation until June 30, Dudi said.

The district administration expressed confidence that the extension would provide farmers with additional time to complete pending documentation and revenue procedures, helping to facilitate the acquisition of the remaining land required for the proposed airport project.
