Pune police Book 12 After Raids on Alleged Online Gaming Fraud Network in Hadapsar, Fursungi

Pune, 12th June 2026: Pune police have unearthed an alleged online gaming fraud racket operating from two premises in Hadapsar and Fursungi, and booked 12 people for allegedly duping customers through a web of bank accounts opened using forged identity documents.

During coordinated raids conducted on Wednesday evening which continuing into the early hours of Thursday, police searched the offices of J K India Private Solutions Limited at Amanora Chambers in Hadapsar and Bhakti Commercial Complex in Fursungi. Investigators said the operation revealed a network allegedly used to siphon money from online gamers.

Police said users of the company’s gaming platform were allegedly induced to transfer money into multiple bank accounts created using fake Aadhaar and PAN card details. An FIR was registered at Hadapsar police station on Thursday.

The prime accused, identified as Santosh Datta Venjanekar (47), a resident of Fursungi, is alleged to have forged identity documents of employees to procure SIM cards and open bank accounts that were later used in the fraudulent operation. He has also been accused of possessing an illegal firearm and six live cartridges without a valid licence.

The raids also led to the rescue of five minors who were allegedly employed at the facilities in violation of labour laws, police said.

Among the items seized were computer hard disks, laptops, auto-dialler machines, pen drives, CCTV DVRs, SIM box equipment, bank passbooks, cheque books, documents and gold and silver ornaments. Police also recovered a pistol and six live rounds from the premises.

The accused have been booked under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Information Technology Act, the Regulation of Online Gaming Act, the Arms Act and the Juvenile Justice Act.

Further investigation is underway to determine the scale of the alleged fraud and identify additional beneficiaries of the racket, police said.
