Vadgaonsheri, 16th June 2026: Marathi film Deool Band 2 continues its successful run at the box office, drawing audiences even 26 days after its release. Amid the film’s growing popularity, a Pune legislator has earned praise for purchasing 1,500 tickets to enable residents of his constituency to watch the movie.

According to the film’s makers, Bapusaheb Pathare, an MLA affiliated with the Sharad Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), along with his son Surendra Pathare, booked 1,500 tickets of Deool Band 2 for people from their local ward.

Actor-director Pravin Tarde shared a video from a theatre to acknowledge and thank the Pathare family for the initiative. In the video, Tarde described Bapusaheb Pathare as the first MLA to purchase such a large number of tickets for the public screening of the film.

“We are extremely grateful that you are showing the right kind of cinema to the people,” Tarde said. “I can assure you that those who watch this film will proudly say that it changed their perspective on life.”

Released on May 21 during the auspicious Brahma Muhurta at 5:30 a.m., Deool Band 2 has received an overwhelming response from audiences, particularly devotees of Swami Samarth. The film addresses the sensitive issue of farmer suicides, blending social commentary with spiritual themes.

The film stars Snehal Tarde and veteran actor Mohan Joshi in pivotal roles. Mohan Joshi’s portrayal of Swami Samarth has been widely appreciated by viewers. The ensemble cast also includes Pravin Tarde, Prasad Oak, Mahesh Manjrekar, Om Bhutkar, and Mangesh Desai.
