Uruli Kanchan, 27th June 2026: A major accident was averted early on Saturday after a chemical tanker carrying Diisopropylamine (DIPA) overturned on the Pune-Solapur Highway near Shahajpur Wadi in Uruli Kanchan, prompting a swift response from the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) fire brigade team.

According to PMRDA officials, the Wagholi Fire Control Room received an alert at around 5:50 am that a chemical tanker had overturned in a roadside ditch in an agricultural field at Survey No. 506/1 near Shahajpur Wadi.

A firefighting vehicle from the Wagholi Fire Station was immediately rushed to the spot. During the inspection, the tanker owner informed officials that the vehicle was transporting Diisopropylamine, a chemical used in the pharmaceutical industry and in the manufacture of chemical fertilisers.
