Shivajinagar, 29th June 2026: A large tree collapsed onto a tin shed and two parked cars at the Officers’ Quarters inside the Police Headquarters in Shivajinagar on Sunday. The incident caused minor damage to the shed, while both vehicles were safely recovered without any injuries.

A team from the Kasba Fire Station rushed to the spot after receiving the alert and launched a rescue operation. Fire personnel used cutting equipment to remove the fallen tree and clear the obstruction, ensuring the affected vehicles were retrieved safely.

Acting Fire Officer Kamlesh Chaudhary said the team responded immediately after being informed about the incident. “The fallen tree was cut and removed safely, allowing both vehicles to be recovered without any injuries. The operation was completed efficiently with minimal property damage,” he said.

The rescue operation was led by Officer-in-Charge of Kasba Fire Station Kamlesh Chaudhary. The team included Acting Leading Fireman Harish Bundele, Driver Nitin Suryawanshi, Firemen Rajendra Mahadik and Dattatraya Sahane, along with Fire Helpers Sunny Lokhande and Kunal Khandare.

The incident comes amid the monsoon season, when heavy rainfall and strong winds increase the risk of tree falls across Pune. Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious while parking vehicles near large trees during adverse weather conditions.
