FDA Seizes, Destroys Food Worth Rs 13.71 Lakh in Pune, Solapur Crackdown
Pune, 30th June 2026: The Food and Drug Administration has seized and destroyed food products worth approximately Rs 13.71 lakh during a special inspection drive conducted across Pune and Solapur districts between June 25 and 27 as part of its “Safe Food, Safe Drug, Safe Maharashtra” campaign.
The drive targeted milk and dairy processing units as well as hotels and food establishments to check compliance with food safety standards.
In Shirur taluka, officials destroyed 12,278 litres of milk at Gagangiri Milk and Milk Products after suspecting adulteration. The unit’s food licence was also suspended.
At Umiya Milk Product in Ambegaon, authorities found production being carried out in unhygienic conditions. They seized 1,155 kg of edible caseinate and coagulant and suspended the establishment’s food licence.
In Solapur district, officials seized and destroyed 1,807 kg of sweets at Ramdev Dairy, where sweets were allegedly being manufactured without a valid licence and under unhygienic conditions.
Action was also taken against Shetkari Raja Milk Collection Centre in Malshiras taluka, where 80 litres of milk were destroyed and the unit’s licence was suspended.
In Pune’s Tathawade area, the food licence of Good Food Roll House Tandoori House was immediately suspended after inspectors detected serious violations.
The Food and Drug Administration urged food business operators to strictly comply with food safety regulations. It also advised consumers to check product labels, manufacturing and expiry dates, and the FSSAI licence number before purchasing milk and dairy products.
