Pune, 1st July 2026: The Pune Rural Police on Wednesday recreated the crime scene at Lohagad Fort with the prime accused, Chetan Chaudhary, as part of their investigation into the alleged murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal. The exercise was carried out amid heavy rain and tight police security.

Investigators took Chaudhary to the spot from where Agarwal is suspected to have been pushed into a gorge and conducted a spot panchnama. Police said the reconstruction was aimed at verifying the sequence of events, including the route allegedly taken by the accused and the circumstances in which Agarwal fell into the valley.

Officials documented various aspects of the scene and questioned Chaudhary about the alleged sequence of events. According to the police, the reconstruction will help corroborate the accused’s statement with the physical evidence collected during the investigation.

Following the exercise, police are expected to subject Chaudhary to a gait analysis, a forensic technique that examines an individual’s walking pattern. The analysis will be compared with CCTV footage and other visual evidence collected from the area to determine whether the person captured near the crime scene matches the accused.

Agarwal had died under suspicious circumstances at Lohagad Fort. While the incident was initially suspected to be an accidental fall, investigators said technical evidence and witness statements later pointed to the possibility of foul play. Chaudhary was subsequently arrested, and police now suspect that Agarwal was deliberately pushed into the gorge. Investigators are continuing to gather forensic and circumstantial evidence to establish the sequence of events.
