Katraj, 2nd July 2026: The Pune City Police on Thursday demolished an illegal hotel at the Sinhgad Campus area, alleging that it served as a financial source for a wanted accused and functioned as a crime hotspot.

According to Senior Police Inspector Manasing Patil of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station, the action was taken in connection with Crime Register No. 119/2026 registered under the provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

Police said the demolished establishment, identified as “Matoshri Hotel,” was allegedly providing financial support to wanted accused Manoj Padule, a resident of Sinhgad Campus, and his gang. A bulldozer was used to raze the unauthorised structure during the operation.

Officials stated that Matoshri Hotel had become a crime hotspot within the Bharati Vidyapeeth-Sinhgad Campus area, with repeated criminal incidents being reported from the location. The demolition was carried out as a preventive measure to curb criminal activities and dismantle the alleged financial network supporting the gang.

Senior Police Inspector Manasing Patil said the action was undertaken to prevent recurring crimes in the area and to strengthen law enforcement efforts against organised criminal activities.

Police said further action in the case is underway.
