Alandi, 3rd July 2026: A two-year-old girl died after she was allegedly run over by a car in Alandi, triggering widespread public outrage after CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media. Police have registered a case against the driver, a 26-year-old doctor, and launched an investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Shrutika Santosh Mirase (2), a native of Yavatmal, who was in Alandi with her family to attend a wedding. According to the police, the accident occurred while the child was crossing the road when she was struck by the car. She sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.
