Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police Issue Advisory, Ask Commuters to Avoid Waterlogged Roads
Pune, 6th July 2026: Amid waterlogging caused by heavy rain across the city and rural areas within the limits of Pimpri Chicnhwad Police, the traffic department has issued ad advisory for commuters, urging them to avoid roads and bridges which are waterlogged.
Traffic Advisory Due to Heavy Rain
Status as of 12 pm
The Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police has issued the following update on road conditions due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging across the city:
Bhosari Traffic Division
Waterlogged locations:
* Banacha Odha
* Mai Wadewale Chowk
* Cloud Nine Hotel area
Traffic is moving slowly due to waterlogging.
Bavdhan Traffic Division
Waterlogged locations:
* Radha Chowk
* Nanaware Underpass
* Bhugaon
Traffic is slow because of water accumulation.
Chakan Traffic Division
Waterlogged location:
* Waki Phata
Traffic has been completely suspended at Waki Phata due to flooding.
Dighi-Alandi Traffic Division
Bridges submerged under water:
* Dabhade Sarkar Chowk bridge
* Old Indrayani River bridge
* New Indrayani River bridge
* Bridge at Markal village (within Pune city limits)
* Siddhabet bridge
Traffic has been stopped on all these bridges as they are submerged.
Additionally, the entry of all types of vehicles into Alandi has been prohibited.
Wakad Traffic Division
Waterlogged locations:
* Tathawade Underpass – Closed to traffic
* Punawale Underpass – Traffic moving slowly
* River View Chowk bridge, Thergaon – Closed to traffic
Sangvi Traffic Division
Road closures:
* Traffic from MM Chowk towards Chinchwad closed
* Sai Chowk closed due to waterlogging
* Rahatani bridge closed due to flooding
Nigdi Traffic Division
Waterlogged locations:
* River View Chowk – Completely closed
* Keshavnagar, Chinchwad
* Rudra Parking area
* Bhel Chowk (near Geeta Vadapav) – Closed by the municipal corporation as manholes are open
Pimpri Traffic Division
Waterlogged locations:
* Vallabhnagar Underpass – Completely closed
* Sai Chowk Underpass – Completely closed
Hinjawadi Traffic Division
Waterlogged locations:
* Road near Shani Mandir opposite Indira College – Closed
* Tathawade Underpass (Hinjawadi side) – Closed
* Surya Underpass and Sayaji Underpass – Waterlogging reported; traffic moving slowly
Mhalunge Traffic Division
Road closures:
* Road from Alandi Phata towards Alandi closed
* Nala bridge near KBM Company has collapsed; traffic suspended
Chikhli Traffic Division
Road closures:
* Havaldar Vasti to Alandi road
* Road from Diamond Chowk towards Moi
* Chikhli Arch to Chikhli Crematorium Road
Waterlogged locations:
* Laxmi Chowk
* Kudalwadi
* Patil Nagar
* Jadhav Sarkar Chowk
Dehu Road Traffic Division
Traffic restrictions:
* Diversions implemented at Central Chowk
Waterlogged location:
* Both service roads near Shinde Petrol Pump are submerged
Talegaon Traffic Division
Waterlogged locations:
* Near Hotel Indrayani, opposite Ghoradeshwar Temple
* Near Hotel Thand Mamla, where rainwater has flowed down from the hills
* Dev Phata on the Talegaon–Chakan Road (municipal council staff are carrying out restoration work)
The traffic police have advised motorists to avoid waterlogged stretches, follow diversion routes, and exercise caution while travelling as heavy rainfall continues across the Pimpri Chinchwad region.
