Pune: Sinhagad Fort to Remain Closed on July 8 as Heavy Rain Continues; Fresh Decision on July 9 Opening Tomorrow

Pune, 7th July 2026: Authorities have decided to keep Sinhagad Fort closed for tourists on July 8 as well, following another spell of heavy rainfall in the Sinhagad region on Tuesday.

The decision comes after intense rain lashed the area again today, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that heavy rainfall is likely to continue. In view of public safety and the prevailing weather conditions, the fort will remain closed for visitors on Wednesday.

Officials said a fresh advisory regarding the reopening of the fort on July 9 will be issued tomorrow after reviewing the rainfall situation and weather forecast.

Tourists and trekkers have been urged to follow official advisories and avoid visiting the fort until further instructions are issued.

The fort has been closed since 6th July due to heavy rains and landslides.
