Pune–Mumbai MSRTC Bus Services Resume; 120 Buses Operate After Rain Disruptions
Pune, 7th July 2026: Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) resumed bus services between Pune and Mumbai on Tuesday after operations were suspended a day earlier due to a landslide near the Missing Link section on the Pune–Mumbai route.
According to the MSRTC administration, nearly 120 buses were dispatched from the Pune division to Mumbai as per the regular schedule. Passenger response remained encouraging, with many commuters opting for bus travel as railway services continued to face disruptions.
Bus services on the Pune–Nashik route have also been restored. Several trips on the route were cancelled on Monday after waterlogging near Chakan affected road connectivity. With floodwaters receding, services resumed on Tuesday and are now operating according to the scheduled timetable.
However, continuous heavy rainfall in parts of the Konkan region continues to impact public transport. MSRTC has temporarily suspended bus services on the Mahad, Mangaon, and Tamhini Ghat routes due to adverse weather conditions.
As a precautionary measure, bus services to Mahabaleshwar will remain suspended until July 31, the transport administration said, citing passenger safety.
MSRTC has advised passengers to check with their nearest bus depot, enquiry centre, or the corporation’s official website for the latest travel updates before commencing their journey, as weather conditions may continue to affect transport operations across Maharashtra.
