Pune: Diamond Water Park Road Repair Begins in Lohgaon; Corporator Uses Personal Funds
Lohgaon, 13th July 2026: Lohgaon residents facing difficulties due to the damaged condition of Diamond Water Park Road have received temporary relief after Corporator Aishwarya Surendra Pathare initiated restoration work using personal funds.
According to Pathare, the road condition worsened after the onset of monsoon as the ongoing drainage and water pipeline works could not be completed in time despite repeated follow-ups with the concerned department. The incomplete civic work led to severe damage to the stretch, causing inconvenience and safety concerns for commuters.
Pathare stated that while infrastructure and development projects are necessary, public safety and convenience should not be compromised during the execution of such works.
Considering the daily hardship faced by schoolchildren, women, senior citizens and thousands of commuters using the route, temporary repair work has now been undertaken under the guidance of MLA Bapusaheb Pathare.
The restoration includes laying murrum (gravel) on the damaged portions of the road and compacting it with rollers to improve vehicular movement and reduce risks during the monsoon season.
She clarified that the current work is only a temporary arrangement aimed at providing immediate relief to citizens and is not the final road construction. The permanent road work will be taken up after the completion of the ongoing drainage and water pipeline projects post-monsoon.
Pathare assured residents that efforts would be made to ensure a durable and high-quality permanent road is constructed at the earliest once the utility work is completed.
She also thanked citizens for their continued support and cooperation during the ongoing civic works in the area.
