40-Year-Old female Gives New Lease of Life to four Through Organ Donation

Pune, July 13, 2026: In an inspiring act of humanity, the family of a 40-year-old insurance agent from Daund chose to donate her organs after she was declared brain dead following a road traffic accident. Their courageous decision has enabled four patients suffering from end-stage organ failure to receive a new lease of life.
The donor had sustained severe injuries in a road traffic accident and was admitted to Noble Hospitals & Research Centre on 7th July 2026 for treatment. She was declared brain dead on 9th July .The family consented to organ donation, turning an unimaginable personal loss into a gift of hope for others.

The organ retrieval surgery was performed on July 10, 2026..
Dr.Sanjay Pathare, Group Executive Officer at Noble Hospitals and Research Centre informed that the donor’s lungs, liver and both kidneys were successfully retrieved. The liver and one kidney were transplanted at Noble Hospitals, while the lungs and the second kidney were allocated by ZTCC to other hospitals in Pune.

At Noble hospital the liver was transplanted on a 59 year old male patient suffering from chronic liver disease while the kidney was transplanted on a 49 year old female suffering from kidney failure .

The transplant team included liver transplant surgeons Dr. Manoj Shrivastav,and Dr. Smita Parakh and kidney transplant surgeon Dr.Vikram Satav along with Mr. Mahesh Tupe, Medical Social Worker and Transplant Coordinator,

Dr.Divij Mane , Deputy Managing Director Noble Hospitals and Research Center said that said, “Every organ donation is a story of compassion, courage and hope. At a time of immense personal grief, the donor’s family chose to think beyond their own loss and helped save five lives.. We salute the family for their extraordinary generosity and thank ZTCC Pune and all the healthcare teams involved for ensuring the seamless coordination of this life-saving mission.”

Selflessness and devotion to family

The life of the deceased reflected extraordinary selflessness and unwavering devotion to her family. Her both elder sisters were married but with the untimely demise of her father, she assumed the responsibility of supporting her mother , while choosing to remain unmarried herself so she could continue caring for her mother. Tragically, she lost her life in a road accident, but her compassion transcended death. Through the noble act of organ donation, her kidneys, lungs, and liver have given a new lease of life to four individuals, transforming an immense personal loss into a legacy of hope, humanity, and generosity. Her remarkable journey stands as a powerful inspiration, highlighting that even in death, one person can save and enrich many lives through the gift of organ donation.
