Tourism Department Invites Information on Known and Hidden Tourist Destinations in Pune District
Pune, 15th July 2026 : The Directorate of Tourism has invited citizens, tourism enthusiasts, researchers and organisations to share information on both well-known and lesser-known tourist destinations across Pune district to help promote the region’s diverse tourism potential.
Pune district is known for its rich historical, religious, cultural and natural heritage, attracting visitors from across India and abroad. In addition to its established tourist attractions, the Tourism Department aims to identify and promote emerging destinations, including scenic, adventure, rural and eco-tourism sites.
The Directorate has appealed to the public to submit details about tourist locations, including their historical, spiritual and cultural significance, photographs, maps, reference materials, documents, key attractions, accessibility, available facilities, local traditions and the best time to visit.
The initiative is expected to help document lesser-known destinations and strengthen tourism promotion across the district while encouraging sustainable and community-based tourism.
