Pune Traffic Diversions From 3 PM Today for CJP Long March
Pune, 24th July 2026: Traffic movement in parts of central Pune may be temporarily diverted from 3 pm on Friday due to a long march organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), Pune City Traffic Police said in an advisory.
According to the organisers’ poster, participants will assemble at Lal Mahal near Shaniwar Wada at 3 pm. The march will proceed through Lal Mahal–Phadke Haud–Daruwala Bridge–Narpatgiri Chowk–Bolai Mata Mandir Chowk before concluding at the Pune District Collector’s Office.
Organisers said the rally was being held in solidarity with protesters at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and to condemn the alleged police action against demonstrators earlier this week. The protesters are also demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The traffic police advisory identified the corridor as likely to be affected as the procession advances towards the Collector’s Office.
Police said temporary traffic changes would be introduced depending on the movement of the procession, the number of participants and conditions on the ground.
Traffic may be affected on:
Ganesh Road
Kelkar Road
Shivaji Road
Nehru Road
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes, including:
Laxmi Road
Surya Hospital–15 August Chowk route
ABC Chowk–Futka Buruj route
Jangli Maharaj Road, riverbed road or Tilak Road
Banerjee Chowk–Nehru Memorial route
The traffic police have appealed to motorists to avoid the procession route wherever possible, allow additional travel time and follow instructions issued by personnel deployed at major junctions.
The diversions will be implemented only when required and are expected to remain in force until the procession passes and participants disperse.
