Mumbai, Pune Rail Passengers Take Note: Central Railway Announces Fresh Train Cancellations

Pune, 24th July 2026: Central Railway has extended the cancellation, diversion, short termination and short origination of several train services as restoration work continues on the third railway line between Lonavala and Karjat in the South East Ghat section.

The decision comes after Central Railway successfully restored the South East Down Line and the Mid Line on the affected stretch. However, work to restore the third line is still underway, prompting the railway administration to continue temporary service disruptions.

Several trains cancelled

Among the major trains cancelled between July 25 and July 28 are:
22157 CSMT–Chennai Express (July 25–28)
22732 CSMT–Hyderabad Express (July 25–28)
22944 Indore–Daund Express (July 25–27)
20495 Jodhpur–Hadapsar Express (July 25–27)
11041 Dadar–Sainagar Shirdi Express (July 25)
The corresponding return services, including Chennai–CSMT Express, Hyderabad–CSMT Express, Daund–Indore Express, Hadapsar–Jodhpur Express and Sainagar Shirdi–Dadar Express, have also been cancelled on specified dates.

Trains diverted via alternate routes

To minimise disruption, Central Railway has diverted several long-distance trains through alternate routes, including Daund–Manmad–Igatpuri–Kalyan, Daund–Manmad–Jalgaon–Paldhi–Surat, Manmad–Daund Chord Line, and Surat–Paldhi–Manmad–Daund–Solapur.

Prominent trains affected by diversions include the Visakhapatnam–LTT Express, Madurai–LTT Express, Karaikal–LTT Express, Daund–Ajmer Express, Daund–Gwalior Express, Secunderabad–Rajkot Express, Coimbatore–Rajkot Express, Pune–Santragachi Express, and their corresponding return services.
Partial services for select trains

Central Railway has also announced short termination and short origination of the following services:

11140 Hospete–CSMT Express will terminate at Pune from July 24 to July 27.
11030 Kolhapur–CSMT Express will terminate at Khadki from July 25 to July 28.
11029 CSMT–Kolhapur Express will originate from Pune instead of CSMT from July 25 to July 28.
11139 CSMT–Hospete Express will originate from Khadki from July 25 to July 28.

Restoration work continues

Central Railway said its teams are working round the clock in difficult terrain and challenging weather conditions to clear debris and restore the third line on the Lonavala–Karjat section at the earliest.

Passengers have been advised to check train running status through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) app, railway helplines, or Central Railway’s official social media channels before commencing their journey.

The railway administration has appealed to
passengers to cooperate and bear with the temporary inconvenience caused by the natural calamity as restoration efforts continue.
