Pune: 17-Year-Old Boy Bludgeoned to Death in Fursungi; Friend Arrested, Juvenile Detained
Fursungi, 25th July 2026: A 17-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by two of his friends in Fursungi area on Saturday morning, with police suspecting that the crime was triggered by a dispute over the victim’s alleged relationship with one of the accused’s sister.
The incident took place around 7 am near Lane No. 17, Sanket Vihar, behind the garbage depot in Fursungi. The victim, identified as Tanishq Raikwar (17), a resident of Heaven Park, Kalepadal, was allegedly attacked with a stone and a sharp weapon, suffering fatal head injuries.
Based on a complaint lodged by Ajay Harish Raikwar (49), a resident of Kondhwa Budruk, the Fursungi police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act at 1.54 pm on Saturday.
Police have identified the accused as Rohit Sandeep Khade (20), a resident of Pansare Nagar, Yewalewadi, and a 17-year-old juvenile from Sanket Vihar, Fursungi. Both allegedly surrendered at Wanawadi police station after the incident. Khade has been arrested, while the juvenile has been taken into custody in accordance with legal procedure.
According to the police, the preliminary investigation suggests that the accused suspected Tanishq of being in a relationship with Khade’s sister and alleged that he had eloped with her. The police suspect the murder was committed over this dispute. Assistant Police Inspector Bhushan Potwade is investigating the case. Further investigation is underway.
