Free Cleft Lip Surgery Camp in Pune: Children to Get Complete Treatment at No Cost
Pimpri, 4th August 2026: Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, in collaboration with Mission Smile and Kotak Mahindra as part of its social outreach initiative, will organise a Free Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery Camp for children born with cleft lip and cleft palate on Friday, August 7, 2026.
The camp will be held from 9 am to 4 pm at the Plastic Surgery Outpatient Department (OPD No. 5A), First Floor, High-Tech Building, Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune. The initiative aims to ensure that children with cleft lip and cleft palate receive timely diagnosis, expert surgical treatment and comprehensive medical care.
Children examined during the camp and found eligible for treatment will be admitted for further management. All services, including laboratory investigations, surgery, post-operative care, medicines, hospital stay, and meals for the patient and one accompanying family member, will be provided completely free of cost. The initiative is expected to provide significant relief to economically disadvantaged families seeking specialised treatment for their children.
Children born with cleft lip and cleft palate often face physical challenges related to feeding, speech and facial development, along with emotional and social difficulties that can affect their confidence and quality of life. Through this initiative, the hospital aims to provide these children with a new beginning by improving their health, restoring function and helping them smile with confidence.
