Tiranga Rally in Pune on Tuesday: Traffic Restrictions, Diversions Announced From 2pm
Pune, 10th August 2026: Motorists travelling through central Pune on Tuesday afternoon are likely to face traffic restrictions as the city police have announced diversions for a Tiranga rally being held under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
The restrictions will come into effect from 2pm and remain until the rally ends. Organised by the Tiranga Gaurav Samiti Pune, the rally will start from Lalit Mahal Hotel Chowk and proceed via Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Paduka Chowk, Tukaram Maharaj Paduka Chowk and Good Luck Chowk before concluding at Garware Chowk.
The traffic order has been issued by deputy commissioner of police (Traffic) Dr Sandeep Bhajibhakare under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Key diversions
* Swargate to Pune University: Vehicles will be diverted through Alka Chowk, Khandoji Baba Chowk, Veer Savarkar Chowk, Anna Bhau Sathe Chowk, N C Phadke Chowk, Mangirbaba Chowk, Senadatta Chowk, Bal Shivaji-Mhatre Bridge, Nal Stop and Law College Road.
* Swargate to Khadki/old Pune-Mumbai Highway: Traffic will be diverted via Anna Bhau Sathe Chowk, Puram Chowk, Bajirao Road, Gadgil Putla, Kumbhar Ves and RTO Chowk.
* Khandoji Baba Chowk: Traffic will be diverted through Nal Stop, Paud Phata and Aathawale Chowk towards Law College Road.
* Alka Talkies Chowk: Vehicles can take Kelkar Road, Nadi Patra, Shaniwar Wada and Gadgil Putla.
* Senadatta Chowk: Traffic will be diverted through Bal Shivaji-Mhatre Bridge.
* Shamarav Ganpati Chowk: Vehicles will be diverted via Patrakar Bhavan, S M Joshi Bridge and Garware College.
* Garware Chowk to Chafekar Chowk: Traffic will be diverted via Shelar Mama Chowk, Prabhat Road, Law College Road, S B Road and Vidyapeeth Chowk.
The traffic police have urged motorists to avoid the rally route where possible, follow the designated alternative routes and cooperate with personnel deployed at key junctions.
