Pune: Pune Police Seizes Suspected Fake Mawa Worth Rs 1.49 Lakh in Kondhwa; Two Men Detained
Kondhwa, 12th August 2026: The Pune Police seized suspected adulterated mawa worth ₹1.49 lakh during a patrol operation in Kondhwa and detained two men from Rajasthan.
The Anti-Narcotics Cell-2 of the Pune Crime Branch was conducting a patrol in Kondhwa on 9th August when police received information about suspected fake mawa being transported in a vehicle.
Acting on the information, police intercepted a bus bearing registration number RJ-11/R-2001 near Karkade Vasti. During the search, officials found white-coloured mawa suspected to be adulterated, valued at approximately ₹1,49,500.
The two men detained were identified as Indarsingh Ladursingh (42), a resident of Rampura, Raipur, Pali district, Rajasthan, who was driving the vehicle, and Naresh Dinesh Nenival (23), a resident of Indra Colony, Bilara, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, identified as the vehicle owner’s son.
The seized mawa was taken into custody. The operation was conducted under the guidance of senior Pune Police officials, with the involvement of the Anti-Narcotics Cell, Crime Branch and Food and Drug Administration authorities.
