Pune: Train Services Restored Between Hadapsar-Loni After Overnight OHE Repairs

Pune, 13th August 2026: Train services on the Hadapsar-Loni section of Central Railway’s Pune Division were restored at around 7:35 am on Thursday after overnight repairs to damaged overhead equipment (OHE) wires.

The restoration followed an incident on Wednesday night in which a cattle run-over led to pantograph entanglement and damage to OHE wires, disrupting train operations and affecting multiple services on the route.

Railway teams worked through the night to repair and restore the overhead electrical system. A traffic and power block was permitted at 12:35 am on August 13, with four tower wagons deployed for the OHE restoration work.

The affected section was re-energised at around 7:35 am, following which train operations resumed.

The disruption had resulted in the detention of five trains:

Four trains were diverted during the disruption:
20920 – EKNR-MAS
22717 – RJT-SC
12163 – LTT-MAS
16381 – Pune-CAPE

The incident had occurred on Wednesday when Train No. 17613 Panvel-Nanded Express was detained between Hadapsar and Loni at around 8:16 pm after the cattle run-over caused its pantograph to become entangled with the OHE wires.

Railway authorities had deployed tower wagons from Pune, Loni, Daund and Talegaon for restoration work. The stranded Panvel-Nanded Express was subsequently hauled to Loni using a diesel locomotive at around 10:25 pm.

Other stranded trains, including Train No. 71413 MEMU and Train No. 16588 Express, were also cleared using diesel haulage.
