Pune: Nashik Phata-Rajgurunagar Elevated Corridor Tender to be Finalised in 15 Days, Says Amol Kolhe

Pune, 13th August 2026: The tendering process for the proposed Nashik Phata-Rajgurunagar elevated corridor is expected to be completed within the next 15 days, Shirur MP Amol Kolhe said on Wednesday following a meeting with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi.

In a social media post, Kolhe said he had raised several issues concerning roads and connectivity in the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency during his meeting with Gadkari, including the delay in starting work on the elevated corridor.

Kolhe said 100 per cent land acquisition is required before the project can commence. He attributed the delay to a Cabinet decision requiring complete land acquisition before work begins.

According to Kolhe, of the approximately 10 hectares required for the project, funds have been made available for acquisition of 6.91 hectares falling within the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) area. Funds for acquiring another 3.81 hectares in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area are expected to be made available within the next 15 days, he said.

Kolhe said Gadkari also spoke directly to the Pune district collector during the meeting to seek an update on the land acquisition process and directed officials to expedite it.

The proposed Nashik Phata-Rajgurunagar elevated corridor is aimed at improving connectivity on one of the key industrial and traffic-heavy stretches in the Pune region.

Kolhe also raised the issue of accident-prone locations at Manchar and Kalamb, requesting the construction of underpasses and service roads at the locations.

He further highlighted the poor condition of roads transferred to the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC), particularly the Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur, Hadapsar-Yavat and Pune-Shirur routes.

“Large stretches of these roads have developed potholes, causing considerable inconvenience and health problems for commuters,” Kolhe said in his post.

Following the meeting, Gadkari instructed MSIDC managing director Dixit to accord priority to road repair works on these routes, according to Kolhe.

Kolhe thanked Gadkari for meeting him and directing officials to expedite the land acquisition and road repair works.
