Camp, 14th August 2026: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Pune City Police conducted searches at the residence and law office of Jaspal Singh, who allegedly attacked Shiromani Akali Dal chief and former Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in Nanded on Thursday.

The ATS team conducted the searches at Singh’s house in the Pulgate area on Thursday evening. His law office, located at the same premises, was also searched.

Singh has reportedly been living in Nanded for the past two years. He had earlier worked as an editor for a publication called Hola Mohalla and is also a lawyer by profession.

Following the alleged attack on Badal in Nanded, the ATS conducted the searches to gather information about Singh and his activities. Officials examined documents and other material found at his residence and office.

However, the ATS has not yet disclosed what was found during the searches or whether any material was seized.

Investigating agencies are now trying to establish the motive behind the alleged attack and determine whether Singh has any links with other individuals or organisations. They are also examining whether his stay and activities in Pune have any connection with the Nanded incident.

Further details are awaited from the investigating agencies.
