Viman Nagar, 19th August 2026: Bharat Taxi has started operating a limited number of cabs at Pune airport as the driver-owned ride-hailing service works towards setting up a dedicated facility at AeroMall within the next two months.

Unlike app-based cab services that may increase fares during periods of heavy demand, Bharat Taxi is positioning itself as a no-surge-pricing option for airport passengers. The move could provide commuters with a more predictable fare structure, particularly during peak travel hours.

Mohit Mitra, city head of Bharat Taxi, said the company has not yet opened a kiosk at the airport but is in talks with AeroMall management to secure space for its operations.

“Discussions have been held with AeroMall officials and they are willing to provide space. We now need to develop the infrastructure required for airport operations. We are hopeful that the kiosk and other facilities will be ready within two months,” Mitra said.

Passengers have also welcomed the prospect of another cab service operating at the airport.

YS Rajput, vice-president of AeroMall, said the management had no objection to Bharat Taxi establishing its operations at the facility.
“They have approached us seeking space and we have responded positively. Once they are ready, they can set up their infrastructure at AeroMall and commence operations,” Rajput said.
