Pune: PM Modi Likely to Visit Baramati in October at Sharad Pawar’s Invitation
Baramati, 19th August 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Baramati in October at the invitation of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar, who said on Tuesday that the prime minister may inaugurate the ‘Prerna Sthal’ at the Vidya Pratishthan campus in Baramati.
Pawar, who is the chairman of Vidya Pratishthan, said the inauguration could take place around October 16, which is the foundation day of the educational institution. However, he added that he was willing to accept any other date depending on the prime minister’s convenience.
The ‘Prerna Sthal’ has been developed on the Vidya Pratishthan campus and features a statue of Lord Buddha. It will also house exhibitions showcasing the lives and contributions of prominent personalities, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.
The initiative aims to highlight the contributions of prominent figures associated with social reform, education and inspirational thought and make their ideas accessible to visitors.
A final date and formal announcement regarding Modi’s proposed visit and the inauguration are awaited.
