Pune: 58-Year-Old Man Dies, Three Injured as Speeding Autorickshaw Overturns
Khadakwasla, 22nd August 2026: A 58-year-old man died and three others were injured after a speeding autorickshaw overturned in Khadakwasla on July 27. The accident took place at around 5 pm.
The deceased has been identified as Vishwanath Gemu Pawar (58), a resident of Khadakwasla village. Nanded City police have registered a case against the autorickshaw driver, Sagar Babruwan Suryawanshi (18), also a resident of Khadakwasla village.
According to police, Suryawanshi was allegedly driving the autorickshaw at high speed and in a negligent manner despite not possessing a valid driving licence. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn on the road.
Pawar suffered serious injuries to his head and other parts of his body and was admitted to a hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Three other passengers, including Raj Vilas Jawalkar and Abhishek Kumar, as well as the autorickshaw owner, Bhima Gaikwad, were also injured in the accident.
Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Bhapkar.
