Student Talks to Classmate During PT Class, Teacher Allegedly Hits Him; Pune Police Register Case

Swargate, 24th August 2026: An 11-year-old student was allegedly assaulted by a physical training (PT) teacher at a school in the Gultekdi area of Pune after the child was reportedly talking to a classmate during a PT session, police said.

The student allegedly sustained an injury to his hand following the incident. His mother later approached the Swargate Police Station and filed a complaint against the teacher, following which police registered a case and initiated an investigation.

According to the police, the incident took place while the boy was attending a PT period. The teacher allegedly noticed him speaking with another student and became angry. The teacher then allegedly struck the boy on his hand.

The child was injured in the incident and was taken by his family for medical treatment, police said.

Following the complaint, Swargate Police registered a case against the teacher. Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault.

Assistant Police Inspector Narendra Jagdale is conducting the further investigation.
