Pune Police Crack Down on Loud Noise; Strict Enforcement of ‘1 Bass, 1 Top’ Rule
Kasba Peth, 26th August 2026: The Pune Police have stepped up action against excessive noise and unauthorised DJ sound systems in the city ahead of processions being organised for Eid-e-Milad (Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary).
As part of the drive, police officers have been meeting organisers of various processions and mandals and urging them to strictly follow prescribed noise limits. Organisers have also been advised against installing unauthorised or additional DJ sound equipment.
The Faraskhana Police Station has taken action in Kasba Peth to ensure compliance with the sound regulations. Senior Police Inspector Sandip Deshmane personally visited a mandal in Kagadipura and directed organisers to remove additional speakers installed at the venue.
The action follows Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar’s directive for strict implementation of the ‘1 Bass, 1 Top’ sound system rule. Police officials said the objective is to prevent excessive noise while allowing processions and religious programmes to be conducted within the prescribed regulations.
The prompt action by the police has been welcomed by residents in the area.
