Pune: PCMC Sky Sign Department Demolishes Unauthorised Hoarding in Chovavisawadi
Pimpri Chinchwad, 8th September 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) Sky Sign and Licensing Department has demolished an unauthorised 30×30-foot hoarding, along with its supporting iron structure in Chovavisawadi.
The action was carried out on Monday, September 7, following a site inspection that found the hoarding had been erected without prior permission from the civic body. The action was taken under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner (Licensing) Rajesh Agale.
According to the PCMC, the hoarding was located at Survey No. 175/9 on Kalebhit Road, Chovavisawadi. The civic body said such advertising structures can be erected on private land only after obtaining prior permission from the municipal corporation, as prescribed under Sections 244 and 245 of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act and the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations (Sky Sign and Sky Signage) and Advertisement Display Regulation and Control Rules, 2022.
The civic administration has currently undertaken a drive to identify and remove unauthorised hoardings across the city. The PCMC said illegal advertising structures not only affect the city’s appearance but also result in loss of revenue to the civic body.
As part of the ongoing drive, unauthorised hoardings at Tathawade and at the Thermax Chowk, including one installed on the building of Samarth Cooperative Bank, were removed last month.
The PCMC has also warned advertising agencies against installing hoardings without obtaining the necessary permissions. It said any unauthorised hoarding found within the municipal limits would be removed immediately and urged agencies to take note of the warning.
