Pune Man Protests Lohgaon Pothole By Putting Adhesive Tape On It
Lohgaon, 10th September 2026: Frustrated over the deteriorating condition of roads in Lohgaon, a Pune resident staged an unusual protest by putting adhesive tape on a pothole to publicly protest against the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
The protest was led by Sachin Bhosale, founder and president of the Pune Panther Sena, who used the symbolic act to draw attention to the potholes on the road in front of the Lohgaon bus stand.
Pune is increasingly being projected as a metropolitan city, but the condition of several roads has continued to deteriorate, particularly during the monsoon. Questioning the civic administration’s handling of the situation, Bhosale asked whether Pune was now moving from being a “metro city” towards becoming a “city of potholes”.
According to Bhosale, large potholes have developed on the road near the Lohgaon bus stand, creating difficulties for motorists, pedestrians and local residents. He alleged that despite repeated complaints and requests to the PMC, the potholes had not been repaired.
Several roads in the area have reportedly deteriorated further due to the monsoon, with residents and motorists facing inconvenience while commuting.
Bhosale said the unusual protest was intended to highlight the failure of the civic administration to address the recurring pothole problem and draw attention to the condition of roads in Lohgaon.
Residents have also urged the PMC to repair the damaged stretches and take measures to prevent potholes from recurring, particularly during the monsoon season.
