Pune: PMC Sacks Two Consultants Amid Tender Complaints, Project Delays
Pune, 14th September 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has terminated the services of two consultancy firms advising its Roads and Projects departments amid complaints and disputes over tender conditions that have reportedly delayed several civic works.
The civic administration has ended the services of Infraking Consultant and Keshyak Consultant following complaints over tender terms and conditions and the resulting hurdles to project execution. The orders were issued by Additional Municipal Commissioner Prajit Nair on the directions of Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram.
Infraking Consultant was providing consultancy services for various works undertaken by the Roads Department. The department’s tendering process had come under scrutiny in recent months, with disputes and complaints arising over tender conditions. Some tenders were subsequently cancelled, affecting the execution of road works and causing inconvenience to citizens. Complaints regarding the issue were also received by the municipal commissioner.
“Improvements are needed in the functioning of the Roads and Projects departments. We found that different terms and conditions were being imposed for similar works. The tenure of one contractor was nearing completion, while complaints had also been received against another contractor. Therefore, this decision was taken,” Ram said.
Keshyak Consultant was providing consultancy services for major projects in the Projects Department, including flyovers and underpasses. The tender for the Chandni Chowk-Bhugaon flyover had also faced controversy, eventually forcing the civic administration to cancel it.
Taking serious note of complaints related to tenders in both departments, the municipal commissioner reviewed their functioning. After examining the tenure of the consultancy contracts and the departments’ requirements, the administration concluded that there was no need to continue the services of the two firms.
The services of both consultants were terminated with effect from September 10, 2026. The firms have been directed to immediately hand over reports of work completed up to the date of termination, along with relevant documents and official material, to the PMC.
