392 Teachers Appointed To Vacant Rural School Posts in Pune District

Pune, 18th September 2026: The Pune Zilla Parishad has completed the document verification and counselling process for 436 teachers made available in the first phase through the Pavitra Portal, with 392 candidates found eligible and appointed to vacant posts in rural schools.

The newly appointed teachers are expected to join their allotted schools soon, providing relief to schools and teachers currently handling additional teaching responsibilities.

The Zilla Parishad had advertised 599 vacancies on the Pavitra Portal for 80% of vacant teaching posts in rural schools. These included 593 posts in Marathi-medium schools and six in Urdu-medium schools. The vacancies comprised 324 posts for Marathi-medium assistant teachers, 38 for English-medium assistant teachers and 231 graduate teacher posts.

In the first phase, 436 teachers became available for appointment — 225 Marathi-medium assistant teachers, nine English-medium assistant teachers and 202 graduate teachers.

Their educational qualifications and other documents were verified by six committees before counselling. Of the candidates, 395 were found eligible for counselling, which was conducted on Thursday. Following the process, 392 teachers were allotted vacant posts in rural schools.

Zilla Parishad officials said the appointments would strengthen efforts to provide quality education to students in rural areas. The recruitment includes 208 assistant teachers and 184 graduate teachers.

Officials said the appointment process was completed transparently and as per rules, with the newly appointed teachers expected to focus on students’ overall development.
