Pune: Collector Directs Time-Bound Action on Mulshi Industrial Area Woes

Pune, 19th September 2026: District collector Jitendra Dudi has directed various departments to urgently resolve issues plaguing the industrial areas of Mulshi, including 17 pending complaints on the ‘Maitri’ portal, unauthorised constructions, rising power demand, poor roads, traffic congestion and the lack of a fire station.

Representatives of the Mulshi Industries Association met Dudi and raised a range of problems faced by industries in the area. The collector reviewed the 17 pending complaints registered on the Maitri portal and directed the concerned departments to dispose of them in a time-bound manner.

The issue of unauthorised constructions in the industrial area was also discussed. The Zilla Parishad was directed to take action against unauthorised constructions falling under its jurisdiction, while the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) was asked to act against such constructions in areas under its jurisdiction.

With industrial activity and electricity demand increasing, MSEDCL was directed to address transformer capacity and other power-related issues and take necessary measures to ensure adequate supply.

Traffic congestion at Ghotawade Phata and surrounding areas was another major concern raised during the meeting. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate and PMPML were directed to work in coordination to ease congestion and improve traffic management.

The administration was also asked to initiate steps to deploy additional personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force for traffic regulation. PMPML was directed to take a decision on the demand to relocate a bus stop in the Mulshi industrial area.

The condition of roads in the industrial area was also discussed, with PMRDA directed to take necessary action to address the issue. Dudi further instructed the authorities to initiate steps towards establishing a fire station in the area, keeping in mind the future needs of the growing industrial belt.

Dudi directed all concerned departments to coordinate with one another and resolve the issues within a fixed timeframe.

Meanwhile, the district administration has introduced a facility at the collectorate every Wednesday for representatives of industries from industrial estates across Pune district to directly register their grievances. The administration has appealed to industry representatives to use the facility to bring their issues to its notice.
