Pune: State Govt Approves Additional Collector’s Office in Baramati, Additional Tehsildar’s Office in Chakan

Baramati, 24th September 2026: The state government has approved the establishment of a new Additional Collector’s office at Baramati and an Additional Tehsildar’s office at Chakan in Khed taluka, with the district administration directed to submit a report on land identification and staff postings within 15 days.

Pune district has 13 talukas and a large geographical spread, forcing residents from rural areas to travel to the district collectorate in Pune for official work. The rising number of land-related cases and concentration of hearings before a single officer have also led to delays in disposing of cases.

Against this backdrop, the government has approved a second Additional Collector’s office for Pune district at Baramati. The new office will have jurisdiction over Baramati, Daund and Indapur talukas.

The government has also approved an Additional Tehsildar’s office at Chakan, which will cover the Chakan, Alandi, Pimpalgaon (Khed) and Karanjvihire revenue circles.

The district administration has been directed to first identify temporary premises for both offices. It will subsequently have to identify permanent land and submit a proposal to the government for construction of office buildings.

The posts of Additional Collector and Tehsildar for the Baramati office, and Tehsildar for the Chakan office, will be filled by the state government.

The administration has been asked to submit its report on the proposed locations and postings to the government within 15 days.
