Pune Ganesh Visarjan 2026: Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Visarjan Schedule, Route and Key Attractions

Pune, 24th September 2026: Preparations are underway for the immersion procession of the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Mandal on Anant Chaturdashi, with organisers announcing the schedule, traditional performances and safety arrangements for the event.

Punit Balan, Festival Head and Trustee of the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Mandal Trust, said preparations for the procession have already begun. He also reiterated his appeal for a DJ-free Ganeshotsav and urged devotees to follow safety guidelines during the immersion procession.

Visarjan procession schedule
According to the organisers, the schedule for Friday’s procession is as follows:

7:00 am to 7:30 am: Anant Chaturdashi puja will be performed.

8:00 am: The Ganesh idol will be placed on the decorated Shri Vighnaharta Rath, which will proceed towards Lokmanya Tilak Putla at Mandai.

Morning: The chariot will remain near Tilak Putla during the puja ceremonies of Pune’s five Manache Ganpatis.

5:00 pm to 5:30 pm: The Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati chariot is scheduled to join the main immersion procession on Laxmi Road.

Dhol-tasha pathaks to accompany procession

The immersion procession will feature traditional dhol-tasha performances by three pathaks — Ramanbaug Pathak, Yuva Vadya Pathak and Shriram Pathak.

The Shri Vighnaharta Rath will also feature coordinated lighting and cold pyrotechnic effects, according to the organisers.

The mandal said the procession will continue its 135-year-old tradition while incorporating these elements as part of the celebrations.

Balan reiterates call for DJ-free Ganeshotsav

Balan said the campaign for a traditional and lower-noise Ganeshotsav had gained support among citizens and called for continued enforcement of noise regulations during the immersion procession.

“This movement started last year. It is not my individual campaign alone — it is a movement driven by the citizens of Pune. This year, Punekars have taken this initiative to the next level,” Balan said.

He also appreciated the Pune City Police and Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar for enforcing rules during the Dahi Handi celebrations and appealed for similar enforcement during the immersion procession.

“I can assure you that in the next few years, we will see Pune’s Ganeshotsav become 100% DJ-free,” Balan said.

Appeal to devotees

With a large number of devotees expected to gather along the immersion procession route, Balan appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with the authorities.

“A massive number of devotees will be visiting to seek blessings. We earnestly appeal to everyone to take care of themselves, safeguard their personal belongings, look after the women and children accompanying them, and peacefully celebrate and enjoy tomorrow’s immersion procession,” he said.
