Pune: Pune Cop Dies Of Heart Attack In Hadapsar During Ganeshotsav, Colleagues Mourn Loss

Pune, 26th September 2026: A 50-year-old police constable posted with the Pune police commissioner’s office died of a heart attack in the early hours of Friday, leaving his colleagues in shock.

The deceased, Dattatray Telange, was attached to Wanawadi police station and was currently on deputation at the Pune police commissioner’s office.

Telange had returned home after completing his duty as usual on Thursday night. Around 2.30am on Friday, he was chatting with members of a Ganesh mandal near his residence in Hadapsar when he suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed.

The mandal members immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Telange’s sudden death during the ongoing Ganeshotsav has left the Pune police department mourning the loss of a colleague.
