Pune: 20-Year-Old Man Dies After Falling Under Tractor-Trolley During Ganesh Immersion

Pune, 26th September 2026: A 20-year-old man died after falling under the wheels of a moving tractor-trolley near Vijay Sales at Kalubai Chowk near BT Kawde Road in Pune on September 25, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Vighnesh Santosh Pawar, a resident of Adinath Society in Ramtekdi, Pune.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 4 pm on Friday when Pawar was running behind a tractor-trolley returning after Ganesh idol immersion and attempted to climb onto the moving vehicle. He reportedly lost his balance and fell, and one of the trolley’s wheels ran over his head.
He was immediately taken to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead before treatment could begin.
His body was subsequently shifted to Command Hospital for further procedures. The post-mortem examination was underway on Saturday, September 26.
Police said a preliminary inquiry indicated that Pawar fell under the tractor-trolley while attempting to board the moving vehicle. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the post-mortem examination and the investigation.
