Dr Somnath Salgar Elected AMBI National Public Relations Officer

Pune, 26th September 2026: Dr Somnath Tukaram Salgar has been elected unopposed as public relations officer of the Association of Medical Biochemists of India (AMBI) national executive council, according to the association’s 2026 election results shared with Punekar News.

The results also name Dr Ramesh Ramswamy as president-elect, Dr Anitha Devanath as honorary secretary, Dr Vidya S Patil as joint secretary and Dr Shilpa Jain as national coordinator.

Established in 1991, AMBI is a national association for doctors working in medical biochemistry and laboratory medicine. It promotes medical education and research, including opportunities for young doctors to develop their research skills.

According to its membership criteria, members must hold an MBBS degree and a postgraduate qualification in medical biochemistry.
