Pune Weather: Light Rain, Thunderstorms Likely in City Over Next 2-3 Days, IMD Says
Pune, 28th September 2026: After a brief respite from rainfall over the past few days, Pune and adjoining areas are likely to receive light rain accompanied by thunderstorms over the next two to three days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has forecast partly cloudy skies in Pune on Monday morning, with cloud cover likely to increase during the afternoon and evening. Some parts of the city may receive light showers, along with thunder and lightning.
The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to be around 20 degrees Celsius on Monday.
On Sunday (September 27), Pune experienced partly cloudy skies in the morning. Sunshine intensified during the afternoon before cloud cover increased again towards the evening.
With the temporary break in rainfall, the maximum temperature increased to 32 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The minimum temperature, however, fell by around three degrees Celsius to 20.3 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has forecast a slight drop in maximum temperatures and a marginal rise in minimum temperatures over the next two to three days. Isolated parts of Pune and surrounding areas are likely to experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning during this period.
Residents are likely to see changing weather conditions, with periods of sunshine followed by increased cloud cover and the possibility of brief showers, particularly during the afternoon and evening.
