Pune Garrison Marks Centenary Celebrations of Military Nursing Service Raising Day
Pune, 1st October 2026: Military Nursing Service (MNS) officers of the Pune Garrison commemorated the culmination of the centenary celebrations of MNS Raising Day with a series of events highlighting the service’s legacy of dedication, professionalism and compassion.
Guided by the motto “Service with Smile,” MNS officers have continued to provide healthcare and support to Armed Forces personnel and their dependents while upholding the traditions of the service.
As part of the celebrations, Brigadier Sreeletha P.S., Brigadier MNS, Headquarters Southern Command, along with serving and veteran MNS officers, laid a wreath at the War Memorial at Headquarters Southern Command in Pune.

The celebrations also included a programme at Tapovan Lawns, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. The event was attended by Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command.
A documentary showcasing the contributions and achievements of MNS officers was screened during the event. It also highlighted the camaraderie among MNS officers and their role within the wider military community.
The centenary celebrations marked an important milestone for the Military Nursing Service, recognising the contributions of its serving and veteran officers and their continued commitment to caring for members of the Armed Forces and their families.
