Pune Doctor Honey-Trapped, Extorted of Rs 14.3 Lakh; Woman Demands Another Rs 10 Lakh

Dhanori, 5th October 2026: A 47-year-old doctor was allegedly honey-trapped and extorted of ₹14.30 lakh by a 32-year-old woman, who allegedly threatened to defame him and his hospital and implicate him in a false criminal case, police said.

According to the complaint lodged by the doctor at Vishrantwadi Police Station, the woman allegedly developed a relationship with him after gaining his trust and later established a physical relationship with him. She allegedly collected private material related to their interactions and subsequently used it to threaten and blackmail him.

The woman allegedly threatened to defame the doctor and his hospital and claimed that she would file a false police complaint against him if he failed to meet her financial demands. Fearing the consequences, the doctor allegedly paid her ₹14.30 lakh in installments.

However, the woman allegedly continued to demand money. According to the complaint, she allegedly took an official register from the doctor’s hospital in Dhanori and subsequently demanded another ₹10 lakh, allegedly threatening not to return the register unless the amount was paid.

Following the alleged continued threats and extortion, the doctor approached the Vishrantwadi police and lodged a complaint.
Police have registered a case against the woman under Sections 308(2), 308(3), 308(5), 308(6), 351(2), 351(3), 352 and 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

The Vishrantwadi police are investigating the matter.
